The Ballina Jockey Club has a history dating over 110 years and has been an important part of the Ballina community.
Ballina Jockey Club is located at Ballina on the beautiful North Coast of NSW, approximately an hour south of the Gold Coast with Byron Bay in close proximity.
The Jockey Club is located only 2km away from the town centre. Ballina is the largest coastal town in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. The town is adjacent to the Richmond River and over 30km of white sandy beaches. The town is a major service centre for the surrounding district and has a resident popualtion of over 10,000 people.
The Ballina Jockey Club holds 17 race meetings per year including the Ballina Cup run in Mid September each year attracting large fields and crowds. Other major feature days include the Byron Bay Cup, Boxing Day Races and the Iris Nielsen/Coolmore Ladies Invitation only Race Day in which attracts some of the best Lady Jockeys from around Australia.
The Ballina Jockey Club is a major regional training centre with up to 185 horses using the training facilities on a regular basis. These horses are either housed in the Club's own stables or in privately owned stables within the racecourse precinct. It is estimated that up to a further 400 thoroughbreds are either in pre training or spelling facilities in the surrounding area.
The Ballina Jockey Club boasts modern facilities to suit all tastes. The Club is set amongst attractive gardens ideal for garden weddings and other outdoor events.
Offering a choice of 3 fully air-conditioned reception areas - depending on the size of your function with privacy guaranteed. Our Kitchens are managed by our award winning Chef, Annie Cavanagh who is available to discuss your requirements whether it be for fine dining or more modest meals.
A feature of the Club is that it has unlimited parking adjacent to the club house.
