Sponsor a race or a race day

Race sponsorship provides a great opportunity to promote your business and entertain your clients or friends at an exciting day at the races.

There are many options available and we would be very happy to discuss your individual requirements with you. The Ballina Jockey Club hosts seventeen race meetings a year. Due to the popularity of this form of advertising and promotion you will need to book well in advance. This also allows you to make the best of your planning to ensure that you maximise the value of your sponsorship package and the race day experience of your guests.

Pricing of race sponsorship varies depending on the type of race meeting and the day of the week.

The basic race package for single race sponsorship includes the following benefits:

• Ten tickets for admission onto the racecourse and into our exclusive sponsors room overlooking the
     mounting yard and the racecourse.
• Complimentary food and drinks during the race meeting.
• Naming rights for your race including in the days race book, form guides, media releases and
     broadcasts on Sky channel and 2KY (for TAB meetings).
• Banners can also be displayed in the mounting yard and elsewhere on the racecourse.
• On course announcements can be made to promote your business.

The cost of such a package can vary from $800 for a non TAB or mid week race meeting to $1,200 for weekend or public holiday race meetings.

Feature events such as the Ballina Cup come at a cost of $2,500 per race.

Sub regional Cups are held at the Ballina Jockey Club for communities such at Byron Bay, Mullumbimby, Lennox Head, Billinudgel and Evans Head. These race meetings are ideal events to focus your promotional spend on targeted areas.

Other special days to consider are ‘Christmas at the races’, Friday 13th November 2009, a great day for trade guests, and Ladies day Tuesday 4th May 2009, a fun day for ladies with fashions in the field and a sit down three course luncheon in our sponsors room.

Businesses usually invite their most important people to be a part of the day as either a reward or an opportunity to discover new business.

It is an invaluable way to communicate your marketing message whilst entertaining valued guests in an environment they’ll long remember.

We have a few choices where you can either have individual races on a day and be part of the festivities with others, or as some businesses and organisations do, take a full day of racing and on-sell the other races to suppliers or supporters.

This gives the opportunity to have naming rights to the whole race day and the people that you invite are part of your day.

The Ballina Jockey Club is fully supportive and most of the organising is done by us. You just have to turn up and be prepared to have fun!
